about

I am an artist living in Omaha, NE. I graduated from Doane College (now Doane University) in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with an Emphasis in Painting and Drawing. The following summer, I traveled to Florence, Italy, where I studied painting and drawing at SACI (Studio Art Centers International Florence).

After returning to the U.S. I illustrated the children's book, "Josh the Baby Otter" for the JCMF (Joshua Collingsworth Memorial Foundation). I am their Art Director and have done all of the artwork for them since. The book is in every state and over 8 countries with Rotary International taking it on as a project. More than 300,000 books have been distributed. We recently partnered with Michael Phelps and his foundation.

I have painted live at the Cattlemen’s Ball of NE the past 3 years with this years painting and print going for $14,000. Other events I've painted at include the Teammates Mentoring Gala, where Peyton Manning was the guest speaker, the Heartfelt Incorporated, Lied Center for the Arts, Nebraska Bar Association and Josh the Otter. (I think that's it)

I became licensed to sell Nebraska art a little over a year ago, and my painting of Scott Frost recently made the cover of the Husker Sports Network Fall Sports Guide, which they printed 65,000 copies of. Also, two prints of the live painting I did for the Heartfelt Incorporated Gala hang in the University of Nebraska Memorial Stadium.

I prefer oils and charcoal when painting and drawing because of the way they mix on the canvas, but use acrylic when painting Live because it dries much faster. I often use gesso for texture underneath and use my hands a lot when painting.
